American Healing Arts Foundation – Artists to Paint Live Ponies

Scottsdale, Arizona (PRWEB) January 01, 2012

For the Painting Live Ponies Event, HORSES HELP will transport their horses and pony to the biggest live horse painting event of the year in Arizona. Renowned artists, Bob Coonts and Gene Dieckhoner, participating artists at the EXPO will paint the first horse. Coonts and Dieckhoner are previous winners of retired collectable sculptures of the Trail of Painted Ponies that are now valued at $ 400+. The second is a pony that veterans from the AHAF classes will paint in addition to any veteran attendees that would like to participate. The Children of Fallen Heroes will paint the miniature pony. The horses will be painted with washable watercolor paints that are harmless to the animals.

AHAF and Horses Help will each be signing up veterans for their classes during this event. Trail of Painted Ponies collectable horse sculptures will be for sale throughout this event in addition to pony kits for painting by AHAF. The EXPO artists are supporting AHAF and getting involved by painting original sculptures that will also be for sale during the event. Purchasing the sculptures up front is their donation to American Healing Arts Foundation. Everyone is invited to come out and have their photo taken with the horses for a small donation to the charities.

AHAF and Horses Help look to make this an annual event as well as their premiere fund raiser together. The Foundation is reaching out for sponsorship, media support, donations and volunteers for this unique and positively fun event.

AHAF offers free art classes for our U.S. Veterans by award-winning art instructors for art therapy. For the veteran that would like to take therapy to a deeper level, the Foundation also has licensed art therapists.

AHAF has also partnered with the Horses Help adding horse therapy to their line up of classes for veterans. The classes are held at their Therapeutic Riding Center in Phoenix. They teach riding skills to people with disabilities.

Post-traumatic stress disorder remains high for both wounded and uninjured soldiers plus the suicide and divorce rate continues to soar. Art is proven to be a great form of therapy for victims of all backgrounds. AHAF provides art therapy giving veterans the ability to interact with award-winning art instructors, witness their own creative side, the opportunity for an art career, adding encouragement, hope and healing for the future plus exercise the power of rehabilitation. These classes are also intended to reunite veterans with their fellow veterans, away from hospitals and the battlefield, in a peaceful environment.

AHAf is accepting contributions with great appreciation. If you can help, please contact AHAF at 480-717-9888 or visit http://www.AmericanHealingArtsFoundation.com or http://www.Art4Heroes.org.

The weekly classes are held at the Arizona Fine Art EXPO which begins January 19th and runs through to April 1, 2012. There are a number of different classes such as: painting, clay sculpting, art therapy, encaustic wax painting, horse sculpture painting, glass jewelry making, horse therapy, dance therapy and more. If interested in personal interviews with art instructors, art therapists or veterans, AHAF can accommodate any special needs. Photos available upon request.

Good drawing tutorials or bad.

Article by Gareth Pritchard

As with all tutorials, drawing tutorials should provide you with value even if they cost you nothing but if you also pick up any information on any subject that occupies some space inside your head for what ever reason, good or bad it is useful.

Good and bad information is useful because it enables you to embrace it or reject it. If it is good then it influences you in a positive way that is to your liking and has a certain amount of pleasure contained within, if it is not good and you dislike it then it also has influence because you will often disregard it giving it no credence.

At this point good and bad influence you and your work so are likely to manifest themselves and possibly be reflected in what you do and who you are.

There is I think you will agree a certain amount of truth in this statement that good and bad have a twisted kind of positive influence on you and your work but it is no good reason to accept crap, if it’s crap it is still better off avoided. As for drawing tutorials the ones I have acquired and even paid money for are not very good unless perhaps you are a complete beginner and need to understand a few basic principles but in my experience that is all they can really offer you any of them. This might seem harsh but whilst being on the receiving end of spending quite a while wasting my time I realize that it is much harsher, in fact it will kill your creative energies if you’re not careful.

The best drawing tutorials in the whole world do exist but they are not specifically about drawing they are more about drawing on the power of your own mind and equipping yourself to learn I believe you are the teacher and the learner always with there being much research, understanding and theory from respected educators that will back this statement up as well as me.

The best drawing tutorials in the whole world are but a few clicks away or at the very least there is something worth knowing but as they say you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink.

If your thirsty for drinking some knowledge and you want to draw better then don’t be a horse take a look at drawing tutorials please.

These methods work without hardship.

Original Digital Art: The Big Picture

Article by Donovan Gauvreau

With the advancement of today’s computer technology, the world of art has been thrown into a tailspin. New and original digital art tools are being created with every passing day, and are serving to take the art world to loftier heights. Those who were only able to illustrate their artistic creations on paper with brushes are now capable of churning out their visionary works in a fraction of the time, and with much less physical effort and no mess. Photographers who used to painstakingly agonize over the correct lighting, position, and shutter speed of a photograph now merely have to snap a picture and glorify it on the computer. As much as digital advancements are being appreciated in the genres of graphic design, music, photography, and film production, they are slow to gain acceptance within the more “serious” art forms, such as drawing, painting, and sculpture. This is somewhat due to the notion that it is not the artist, but the computer doing the work. It is also argued that the image produced is infinitely reproducible, and therefore can never remain an original digital art piece.

Types of Digital Art SoftwareThere are essentially two types of digital art software: the 2D (two-dimensional) and the 3D (three-dimensional). The 2D tools allow the user to draw on a flat surface, much like drawing on paper or on a canvas, yet the artist is using a mouse or graphic tablet instead of a pencil or paintbrush. The 3D tools allow you to create characters, architecture, landscape, objects, and special effects, and the computer takes a “photograph” of the image. There are countless painting, drawing, and design programs that artists can utilize in both 2D and 3D.

With the introduction of such original digital art software, art takes on a more organized style. These programs will organize a user’s favourite paintbrushes, papers, and effects for easy access. Some digital art software offers what is called “cloners” in their virtual brushes, which can take the exact color from a source image of a photograph and allow the user to replicate it.

Painting programs have become very realistic, and can provide the user with more than what the ordinary paintbrush can produce. They can mimic the effect of using a pallet knife, and allow the user to select different paper textures in order to experience various effects. Another widely-used digital art tool is the graphic tablet, a remarkable gadget that allows the user to draw freehand, creating interesting and unique digital art. It can even simulate the more classical effects of an oil painting or a watercolour. The resulting work can then be printed on paper or canvas. Many state-of-the-art painting programs available now will allow you to load up your paintbrush with a color that you have mixed yourself, and lay down a brushstroke that slowly dries. Users can choose to work with almost any medium, such as chalk, pencils, pastels, oils, watercolours, felt pens, and ink.

Art on the go!Not only do digital art tools allow you to create realistic pieces of art, but they have also affected art in a profound way by making it more portable and accessible. With the prevalence of laptops in today’s society, an art studio can be carried around, thereby constantly at an artist’s fingertips.

It has enhanced art by taking it to the masses. With easy user guides and specific tools that can mimic lines, effects, and colors, original digital art masterpieces can be created by pretty much anyone, even someone with no previous background or training in art. Those who have never had the proper precision or visual acuity to create stunning oil paintings or sketches, now have the chance to craft original digital art pieces.

The introduction of digital tools has made the hobby of art less pricey. With the ongoing decrease in costs for computers, software, and websites, undertaking digital art can be less expensive than purchasing oil paints, numerous brushes, different canvases, easels, and various other art supplies.

For Better or WorseMany in the art world will argue that digital art has nothing on the real thing; that any piece of digital art can be reproduced by someone else with the same program, and that there can never be an original digital art piece. This is an erroneous statement, as some digital artists have taken to deleting the image file of the masterpiece when it is completed, thereby rendering the piece an original. While a painting may fade, chip, or crack over time, works produced with digital printing equipment have remarkable longevity. When printed with modern digital art technology, colors can last from 60 to 100 years.

Article by Marin Sen?ar

Yes! You REALLY can paint like this!

You’ll be right there, looking over my shoulder while I create 2 great paintings.

Learn how to paint realism in oils with artist Delmus Phelps

Thousands of people just like you have discovered the secret to unlocking their artistic potential by following the few simple rules given to you in “A Real Art Lesson”

art lessonYou won’t believe your own eyes at what you can accomplish.Capture the joy of painting and creating things of beauty with your own gorgeous oil painting. An oil painting that you create following this step by step technique, and once learned, can be repeated over and over again so you’ll enjoy a lifetime of artistic freedom in creating many more masterpieces.

This is my information page on A Real Art Lesson electronic book.

Are you looking for the DVD demonstration, and how to get the above e-book for free!

# Have you tried painting before and your work just looked amateurish?

These lessons will help you reach better goals!

# Have you had painting lessons before, and your work just didn’t seem to improve?

These lessons will improve your painting!

# Have you wanted to start an exciting and rewarding hobby yet didn’t know where to take the first step?

This step by step process is for beginners through experienced artists.

# Have you ever wondered if your part time hobby could turn into something more?

If this doesn’t get your heart pumping, not much will.

Hi, my name is Delmus Phelps. I’ve been painting for over 35 years, (my first commissioned sale was in 1974!) and along the way, I’ve learned a great many things that I would like to pass along to you!

From Susan in Maine:

“When I viewed the paintings on the “A Real Art Lesson” ebook cd tears came to my eyes. The work is stunning and truly inspires me to paint again.”From Deborah in Oklahoma:

“Thanks Delmus your e-book is great, I see things I’ve been doing wrong already.”

I’ve put some of my own art work here from using A Real Art Lesson in order for you to appreciate the style of painting that I do, and the type of paintings that this technique will allow you to create.

“Royal Hydrangea”Click on me to get a larger view!

“Tops down Peppers”Click on me to get a larger view!

“White Rose Up-close”Click on me to get a larger view!

Why do I put my own work here for you to see?

Quite simply, so you can judge for yourself the quality of the art. Most of the art lessons that I see online are not for paintings like these! So much is left out and you only get a part of the story. It also will help in your understanding of the depth, color and style of this wonderful technique that I show you!

# Yes, you really can paint like this using this technique. Can you write your A,B,C’s? Then you have enough eye to hand coordination to do this. If you can tell the difference between green, red and blue, then you have enough learned skills already to take this course!

# I don’t just show you how to create one painting! I show you in depth, the technique that will allow you to free your mind of the how-to’s and concentrate on the joy and beauty of the painting you are creating. (Like any craft, once you know the steps, you can then concentrate on the statement, the beauty, the image you have in your mind.)

# Not sure how to start? I show you each and every step. Canvas, brushes, paints, mediums! I explain what they are for, what works for me, what other artists use and works for them.

# You will know exactly how to start your painting. You will know exactly when the painting is finished! No more anxiety of wondering should you add just this little more.

From Horst in Germany:

“Best book on the subject I’ve seen so far – many thanks!”

From Suzy in North Carolina:

EXCELLENT product…what a great art lesson for the money!!!# Concerned you may be too old to start a hobby like this? My web guru showed me an interesting statistic. Most of my customers were indeed retired! Wow! (And you can see some of their great work on my site). So don’t be afraid to get started.

# Concerned you may be too young to try this? I first learned this technique from my High School Teachers! (which placed me in the late teens) and one of my first paintings won a prestigious statewide wildlife award.

# Concerned about having to follow a bunch of rules? Don’t be! Painting is like music. Music has a process or formula that is followed to make it sound good. Like playing the violin, these tools merely show you How To Play. I show you how to finger the strings and saw to bow! You play the individual notes and the music is still your very own!

Here are the two paintings I use in teaching”A Real Art Lesson”.

The first is “Mit Trinken” a vase with grapes still-life.

The 2nd demonstration is “Grapes with Pears” still-life.

paint like the MastersHere’s what you’ll DISCOVER within “A Real Art Lesson”# You will learn all the technique needed to do any painting you would like.

These same techniques can be used for the portrait and the landscape! I explain the differences.

As much information as a weekend seminar.

Don’t have a computer in your art studio? No problem! With the hi quality PDF format, you can print out this manual and view these great instructions/photo’s from anywhere! (Every e-book I’ve ever owned, I’ve done this to. I read better from a hardcopy book for some reason)

Alot of folks would say, “it’s impossible to learn to paint like this without years of instruction.” I beg to differ. It’s the PROCESS that makes it soooo simple. If you are not satisfied in any way with the instruction, just drop me a line, I have an unconditional money-back guarantee!

A beginning artist? I have a whole section on brushwork just for you. How to make soft transitions you see in watercolor work, how to make hard and soft edges, (and why they are important).

Give it a try risk free! I know you’ll be satisfied with the instruction, and you will learn tools that will give you a Lifetime of artistic freedom and joy!

You will need Acrobat Adobe Reader to view this e-book. (Most all e-books are now in this format and most computers already have the program to read them, but just in case, I include links on the download page for you to get your copy.)

Now, who should NOT order this e-book?

If you think your painting will be completed in one 20 minute session, sorry. This is not a one session painting technique. Look closely at the work. It is not something that will be done that quickly. So if you prefer a one stroke technique, or the wet-in-wet techniques of Bob Ross, this oil painting technique is not for you.

If you want to jump straight into portrait painting? The technique is used in portraiture and in landscapes, I do discuss some the preliminary differences, but this course (at least the demonstrations are) primarily geared for the still life. In the schools of yesteryear, the beginning artist started out in the still life, and progressed into portraiture and landscapes. If you are a beginning artist, and want to go straight into these genre’s then this course may not be for you. IF you are an intermediate artist, it can be easily adapted to the portrait and the landscape.
