Wood Craft for Christmas – Scroll Saw Vintage Snowman -
Make beautiful handmade wood gifts or show stoppers that are great sellers. Get creative this holiday season and make these snowman fast. Cut from 3/4″ pine wood. They are quick and easy with no inside cuts and no drilling. Bring Christmas home with these vintage Christmas snowmen outlines and painting patterns. This is an easy project to make and you can also cut from 1/4″ luan or birch to make fridge snowman magets. Size this snowman by right clicking on pattern and saving to your computer.

SEE PAINTING OUTLINES BELOW – RIGHT CLICK IMAGES TO SAVE & PRINT. Use raffia for bows and accents. You can dye raffia any color using powder or liquid RIT dye. Buy pre-cut hearts to save time. “Handle” of the heart was made by using wood skewers. Bend the skewer and put ends into pre-cut drilled holes in the heart. Use a drop of glue in the holes first. This haunted Halloween was made from a scrap piece of wood. WITCH MINIS. Notice the Salem MA on the front. Years ago these witches were ’souvenir’ collectibles sold in various gift shops surrounding Massachusetts tourists area. Any wood miniature can be made into a souvenir with the name of the town or state painted or Sharpied. More information on souvenir selling will be revealed in a later post. Witch brooms are purchased and glued on with Elmer’s glue. If you do not have a purchased broom – made your own. Start be using one end of a toothpick, use various materials for the brooms wisks if possible. You can find tiny brooms online or in your favorite crafts store. 






Make a ‘goodie’ bag by sewing – or- gluing a tiny square from fabric- then stuffing it. Secure the bag using a gold string.

PAINT THIS HOUSE LESSON IT’S EASIER THEN YOU THINK. With the right brushes and the right paint paints, you can create a masterpiece of your own. Don’t say you can’t until you have tried it. Check out MISC tab for easy follow along steps. Materals you will need are listed as well as types and brands of quality paints.
The Christmas house ornament has a tiny straw broom glued onto the front-once it is painted. Also- attach a gold string onto the top so it can hang. To attached the string, poke or drill a tiny hole in the top of the ornament. Insert a drop of Elmer’s glue in the hole-then insert the string. Let dry. The Someone Loves You House is also stained -so grain can show thru. A tiny broom is glued on the front.
Here is a painting guideline image and pattern sheet for you to copy onto your computer – for best results. Print out to the desired size and use the painting guide to help you along with finishing the minis. Notice the cat birdhouse is just stained and the rest has minor details added. Drill a hole for the mouth. Glue a bunch of -Spanish moss- below the mouth for a -straw – or nest look. Use the Elmer’s glue – it will dry clear. 
Many variations can be made from one design. Don’t stop at painting these brown. Try lite blues, pinks and orange for Halloween. And as long as the one standing foot is square and flat to the ground — He will stand on one foot! How cute is that? Turn him into a witch and add a wand with tiny gold elastic strings dangling. (See the mics. tab for more on supplies.) ~~Or you can leave him as a tiny cutie teddy bear. Cut him small or cut him large – the concept should still be the same with him standing on – one foot.
