Make a 3 -D Reindeer SANTA CLAUS ORNAMENT SCROLL SAW PATTERN

Hurry and make some of the cutest scroll saw miniature ornaments around. This St. Nick scroll ornament has a sign that can say anything. Ho Ho Ho, JOY, etc. Use wire to make the hanger on the sign. Use a Sharpie marker. Make the little sign from 1/4″ thin luan wood or birchwood. You can also buy pre-cut squares. Just look in the crafts section of your favorite store. Here’s a helpful hint when painting this santa claus: If you are painting the santa with a red suit, paint the entire face of the ornament red. Let dry, then paint flesh for the face. Next paint the white trim on the collar and sleeves, and the beard & hat. Paint the eye and noes & cheeks.

Okay -Make this in maybe 3 or 5 minutes – But this project can be super fast to make. Best sellers at shows, give as gifts or make them for yourself! Create from Pre – cut squares of luan, birch or any 1/4″ wood and glue Christmas picture on the surface.
1) Cut the squares 4 or more at a time on a band saw or a scroll saw.
2) Sand the edges smooth.
3) Next have your image ready (ahead of time) to glue onto the face of the wood. You will need Elmer’s white glue – or you can use a spray glue adhesive.
If using the Elmer’s glue, first pour a little on the suare wood and spread the glue all the way to the corners and edges. You do not want the paper edges lifting up on the corners.
4) Smooth out the paper image so there are no air bubbles.
5) Next attach the jute string to the back of the wood piece with colored duct tape (light brown colorry, the same color as the wood was used in this project. You may also use white)
There are a variety of duck tape colors now available in stores in the hardware dept. This step is quick and it works very well to hold any type of hanger you choose.
6) Next Tie a bow of raffia on the jute string and attach some jingle bells if desired.
7) Optional step: Protect face of the ornament with painting a layer of clear water-base varnish.
