You want to sell your unwanted household items & arts & crafts  for quick cash.  Here is a tried and true method of getting your product sold no matter what you may be selling.

First step ) Do an advanced search on the same or similar item that is already selling on eBay. To do this type in your item in the eBay search bar. 

Second step ) Look to the right of the "Blue search" button - click on the word "advanced".  This will take you to the next page. 


Third step )  Click on the option "Sold" listings. This option will bring forward results of actual sold listings as stated. With this new found information this is the base for a formula that you can use to price your product to sell. The formula is simple. Find the actual selling price, then list your similar product just slightly lower in order to beat your competition.

If you are just occasionally listing an item here and on eBay, then of course you would not need to purchase an eBay store subscription. Personally, I have a store and periodically have gone from Basic subscription to Premium and back to Basic again. This of course all depends on the store owner and what you have to offer to sell.   
If you get a store you will be paying a monthly fee to eBay. If you list items for auction, you pay as you go.
My advice is if you have a website of your own where you sell products, it would be a good idea to have a store on eBay as well. The reason for this is simple. Get an eBay store and you have instant traffic. Once someone buys from your eBay store you have a customer. You can then direct that new customer over to your website for more offers or specials you may have. All in all, its extra money in your pocket.

1) Before you list  Do an item  search of similar items selling on eBay that may be listed for sale at auction.
See what the seller is listing the price at. See what the ship cost is. Notice how he is describing the item. A good seller will explain in details any defects if any and post lots of pictures if necessary. If there is a chip, crack or tear – explain it. It is does not work – explain that too. For an example; I had digital camera long ago. It was a nice one and I had dropped it one day. Since I had spent a hefty sum for it, I decided I would try and sell it on eBay. I described as best I could about what did not work concerning the camera. I took a picture of it and listed the item for $30.00. I sold it! I had a feeling there would be someone out there who want this type of camera to perhaps fix themselves or want it for parts. 
Also very important rule about successful selling is that you should always be preapred to offered up a refund in which case the buyer is not happy. Be sure to list a broken or defective item - sold as - is in your description. 
2) Shipping and  preparing the item  Make sure you have the right envelope size or box size to put your product in when you are ready to ship. This should be done as part of the process when getting ready to list your item. You will need to know the ship weight and charge accordingly. It is the customer that will usually pay for the shipping, so do your best to be as accurate as possible with cost.  Purchase an inexpensive postage scale to weigh your packages. I bought mine on eBay for a great price! You will want to weigh your package with the item, stuffing, and box all on top of the scale.If it is a large and heavy item, you may be able to use a regular bathroom scale.


3) Customer service Once you sell your first item on eBay you will want to provide great customer service after the sale. Repeat buyers make up more than 20% of sales and return again because of the great sales experience they got from you. An example of great customer service is: someone buys an item from you, you forget to add the "charger" in the box for the phone you sold. Oops!  Customer is not happy -charger is suppose  to be included with their purchase. Customer writes to you and asks what to do? There is no charger. This situation actually happened to me. There was no charger to send my customer. He just sent me alot of money - $71.00 to be exact. I found a charger for this phone that was listed on eBay selling for 10.00 with free shipping. I emailed the link to my customer and at the same time I refunded him $10.00 to buy this charger for the phone. He was happy. I received a good feedback rating that said there was good communication with seller and he was satisfied. This really could have been a disaster. The other course I could have taken was - I could have asked that the customer mail the item back for his $ money back. How inconvenient! And how long would this take? If it were me, I would be disappointed to say the least. I would want my time I bought and I would want it NOW !  Next time, I will be more careful before I finally send out my package to make sure Everything is in the box!
