Kitty Scroll Pattern PRETTY KITTY WOOD COLLECTIBLE Create this adorable kitty using 1/2" or 3/4" pine wood. Cute magnets can be made by using 1/4" wood with either luan or birch. Cut up to 4 pieces of 1/4" at time! Use acrylic paint for painting the cat. The trick with painting any wood collectible is this: paint the entire wood base first, THEN apply the details when the base is dry. For this kitty for example, if painting the gold, paint the entire cat gold. Then when the gold | paint is dry, paint the eyes and the mouth and nose. Then paint the flowers, etc. More about painting these wood miniatures in coming posts. Here is a neat trick to try with most any wood miniature; if you like a particular pattern, try painting that piece in many different colors. For instance , if selling your crafts at a fair, think about displaying retty "blue " cats. Quite a head turner. This comes in handy also if the customer is looking for her color cat to buy and does not find it. The blue would represent 'all' colors of cats. Not to mention the uniqueness that goes along with such a marvelous collection of glorious wood items! |
