Easy and simple patterns make it possible to cut these little darlings all day and never make (or paint) the same one twice. So many possibilities and color combinations. Angels don’t have to be painted all white. Try using shimmering acrylic colors that shine and look so glorious when dried.
Stock up on paint colors. . Experiment. Find a sale and scout the craft store shelves for FolkArt or Apple Barrel or your favorite colors of acrylic paints. Be sure to get a good quality brush while your at it! Notice the ‘hair’ this is knotted (on one end) then -squashed down- on the head to glue (Elmer’s glue all). Jute string can be purchased in any craft or even hardware department. Dye it any color you want -or leave it natural. Insert lace wings by poking a ‘hole’ in the back

of the angel and securing with glue. Buy wood books (find these online) in various sizes. Use a Sharpie marker for wording on books.
The wings of the angel here are cloth or ribbon glued on the back. You can use any materials for this. Even lightweight lace or tull works beautifully. Hint: When painting the angel wood piece, as shown here, paint the ENTIRE base first -then paint the flesh for the face and hands, them the white cuffs on the hand, the details of the face next, etc. A fine liner brush was used to paint the words on; you can used a -colored – Sharpie marker and achieve the same results.
